Spitted ones:
A couple of weeks ago I was taking care of some personal
business at a local establishment, and saw on the shelf
a traval coffee mug - you know the type, lid so you don't
McDonaldize yourself, shanked down so it fits in the too
small cupholder - from one of the local gas/petrol stations.
Now, I wouldn't have paid too much notice except that there
was a small blue car caricatured on the side of the mug. A
very familiar looking car. Upon closer inspection (and with
apologies to the person in whose office I was standing), I
realized that the car pictured was a Spitfire! A Mk IV/
1500 model. Last night, I finally needed gas while in the
area of the said gas station, and noticed that they had a
number of the mugs on display. Cheaper than any Spitfire
parts that I have run across recently - $0.73 and comes
with a fill of any bevvy that they sell (no beer)!
So, if any of you happen to stop at a Clark Station, check
out the coffee mug. Clark seems to be located primarily in
the Southeast Michigan area, but it they might have outlets
in other parts of the country as well.
I might be persuaded to buy a few of them for the people that
aren't lucky enough to have a Clark station nearby. The price
would be the same plus shipping, but I won't ship it with any
liquids in it!
