One of the cars we were hoping to take to the convention will not have AC.
So we may have to fall back on taking my wife's 95 LX wagon.
Her wagon has a bad blend-door motor but a healthy AC system. I will do the
blend door Thursday and Friday if need be, but let me first ask:
Does anyone know a shortcut way that I might force the blend door to stay
closed? It seems like when the motor fails it fails with the heater door
fully open. Could I get by for a week simply by somehow locking the door
closed so that air passes over the AC evaporator but not the heater core?
Just to put this 2-day job off until after the convention, I would be
willing to drill a small hole in the heater box and insert something (maybe
a long drywall screw?) into that hole to push the blend door shut.
Any comments or ideas? Thanks.
