Don, I don't recall. I believe that it was a combination of local sound
ordinances, as well as the kids have just moved beyond that stuff.
Sure, I will occasionally hear, a booming car, but that no BFD.
FWIW, my old-fart SWAG as to why it's no longer an issue is that the iPod
has become the bigger deal, and I suspect that kids just plug in with
headphones.
Don't worry, the "newest thing" will eventually get to southern IL!!

Because if the boom box cars are still disturbing the peace,
you haven't solved the problem, and it isn't an issue
because people have given up and are living with noise they
shouldn't have to.
If you solved the problem, maybe you could let us know how
the local governments did it?
If the problem is just getting to the forefront in Peoria,
then maybe we have more civilized people? Because I know
the technology for loud mobile stereo has been here as long
as anywhere else.
