How about getting a selection of aerosol paint cans and paint them differe=
nt colors.=C2=A0 Sure the paint will wear off but not everywhere at the sam=
e rate and as long as there is some visible it will be doing its job.=C2=A0=
If you use them frequently you will quickly learn what color is what size.=

Subject: [Shop-talk] Socket marking? (and a quick 'why?)
First, why do they not sell metric impactsockets sets with all sizes? =C2=
=A0I just spend about an hour, with a chartto figure out what brand sockets=
, and extra ones I needed to make up afull set.
They don't even all skip the same sizes.=C2=A0Some skip 16mm, others 20mm e=
tc. =C2=A0I know that some sizes arethe same as sae, but what if I don't ha=
ve an sae set? =C2=A0Just wondering.
On to the REAL question.
All of my sockets sets that I have areawesome. =C2=A0They aren't to fat to =
prevent getting into spaces, but don'tbreak when the gorilla (me) turns the=
m. =C2=A0HOWEVER, most of them arelosing their labeling. =C2=A0I don't want=
to have to buy new sets thatare engraved, so I wanted some feedback on my =
options.
1-Sticker labels-do they last? =C2=A0Iactually use colored tape on a few of=
my most standard sizes so I can quicklyfind them, but that needs to be re-=
applied every few years.
2-Markers? =C2=A0Are there markers thancan write on these things that will =
last a while? =C2=A0(If I have to rewrite them as it wears off, that isn't =
an issue, as long as it isn't toooften.)=20
3-Manually engrave them. I have a dremelengraver. =C2=A0Will that work with=
out weakening the socket? =C2=A0Anyother way to do it?
4- combination of 2 and 3? =C2=A0Engravethen write over the number with a m=
arker?
5- any ideas I missed? =C2=A0
Thanks.
