FWIW, my BIL (who works in a related field) mentioned a new "tankless" system the other day. Apparently it involves a VFD driving a 3-phase pump motor at just the right speed to maintain the desired water pressure. Not sure of the details or advantages, but it might be something to look for. They claim a considerable reduction in electricity usage with variable speed swimming pool pumps, but of course a well pump is a different animal. -- Randall |
