That was exactly my thought.

(We had ice dams on the wood shed.  It's not heated, insulated, nor
even closed: open on one side, and a foot of air between the roof and
the back (low) side.  I was pretty amazed by that.  Just the right
conditions of cold and sun, I guess.)
