As long as we have sort of wandered around to good sources for unusual stuff
I'd like to nominate one of my favorites. The Dillsburg Aeroplane Works
(don't you just love that name? Can't you just see some gruff old mechanic
in coverall with the stub of a cigar in his teeth and grease on his face
working on a Jenny?)
Anyway, they are a good source for aircraft metals....chromemoly, aluminum
etc.....

Tony, those aircraft engines are based on designs from the 1930s generally,
and some of them have valvetrains well over a foot long, of alloys that were
not optimized for less expansion.
Have you heard on of those old planes start up on a cold morning? Sets
your teeth on edge, it does.
By the way, I assume everyone is familiar with Aircraft Spruce?
How goes the vintage loti scene?
