Karl,
I bought the ones my local Radio Shack had. The brand is Digital Stream,
and they seem to work just fine. In addition to the standard cable
connection for output, they also have 3 RCA plugs - audio L & R, and video.
Installation was plug and watch.
My suspicion is that all the boxes are very similar, given they are trying
to do the same thing at similar prices. Some may have a few additional
features, but I'm only guessing on that.

Subject: [Shop-talk] TV converter boxes
I've have the government coupons for TV converter boxes for a while, and
need
to use them within a week. The big-box stores tend to have only one brand,
no
choice or features to decide on. TV isn't all that important to us, but we
cancelled cable and will want to watch TV after February, so...
Is there anything to look for, or are they all pretty much the same eggroll
brand and work the same ?
Thanks!
Karl
A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters
discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public
