Hmm, good point. But it doesn't seem like that would be any harder than
holding a timing light while turning a dizzy.

True enough, but while I wouldn't claim I have perfect pitch, I can hear
changes in engine note pretty good. Been tuning them "by ear" for over 30
years ... I mostly want this to double-check the dash tach.
Of course that's a problem too, pretty much impossible to see the dash tach
while watching the laser tach at the same time.
