This is how my 4 post lift was delivered. But instead of a tree I chained
it to my little pickup truck.
Chained package to the truck, moved semi enough to get the lift package
about 1/3 of the way out of the truck. Moved the pickup closer so that the
package was over the (open) tailgate. Pulled the semi so that the package
was over only the liftgate. Lowered the liftgate almost to the ground,
drove the semi forward enough to release the package. Stuck a few pallets
under the load at the pickup; tailgate. Loosened the chain at the pickup
and pulled it forward till free of the pack. Done.

Who still hasn't cleaned out the garage enough to set up the lift. (Note
that my garage should have the warning label "garage is smaller than it
appears in the construction drawings" but the height is fine with high walls
and scissor trusses.)
