There was a "tin snips" thread running here a few weeks back that caught my
eye since I've had nothing but grief with any of the SEVERAL snips I've
owned.
Then, I discovered at GRIZZLY:
G9947 Mini sheet Metal Cutter
http://www.grizzly.com/products/G9947
I've had it about a week and I've cut 40 or 50 feet of 26 gauge steel 16
Ga.. aluminum and stuff in between. . . It's better than I imagined
possible. You can cut with an accuracy that approaches a jump bar squaring
shear ($1000) and you can even cut a 4' x 8' panel in half since it has no
throat width constraints. (works like a can opener) If I broke it tomorrow
I'd run buy 2 more immediately. Keep your snips and nibbler for curves,
this thing cuts straight and clean.
You can clamp it in a vise and use it immediately on 2 or 3 foot sheets.
For big sheets, you need either a helper or some sort of a table surface to
support the material. Check it out, buy it, it's only 20 bucks!
