Get a special nozzle, sometimes called a 'turbo nozzle'. It has a
spinning nozzle inside it so the spray comes out in a cone pattern.
It allows you to clean a larger surface with each pass. It does a
much more uniform job of cleaning slime, etc, off a surface.
As a side suggestion, try using some moss remover on the deck first,
but only if there's no grass adjacent to the deck. The rinse runoff
stunted my grass for a while.
