Hello,
I was reading an article on engine rebuilding in Hemming's that described a
process called Thermal Cleaning that is a replacement for hot-tanking for
engine parts.
Basically, blocks, etc. are placed in a hot oven for a while, and all the
grease, sludge, etc.
is cremated and reduced to ash.
Has anyone every tried this at home, by sticking dirty parts in a self-cleaning
oven?
I am thinking of experimenting with the incredibly scuzzy bellhousing from my
'31 Ford whose engine I pulled last weekend.
