<Http://Off-Road.Com/jeep/> is a good place to start.
<Http://Off-Road.Com/jeep/jeeplists.htm> allows you to
subscribe to some of their mailing lists (you'd probably
want the short wheelbase list, maybe the Jeep Tech list).
Off-Road.Com also has web forums.
PNW4WDA.Org (Pacific Northwest 4 Wheel Drive Association) is
also worth checking out (I'd recommend joining; you can find
the monthly magazine, the TriPower, in many off-road shops).
There are many good clubs around; you can learn a lot from
other members.
With good tires (pressure lowered as appropriate), lockers
in the differentials, and (most importantly) learning to
drive in these conditions you can go pretty far. Add a set
of V-Bar chains and you'll be able to get stuck in much
worse conditions :) (consider a winch, although a good jack
will get you pretty far; it'll just take you a lot longer to
extract yourself).
