An old cheap socket and a five-pound hammer was enough to remove the
antitheft lugs on all four wheels of Pontiac I was faced with. The owner
had bought the car months earlier and had no idea what I was talking about
when I asked her where the antitheft wrench was. I searched the entire car
looking for it.
Smashing an old socket onto the antitheft lug was enough to do the job.
Down a well wouldn't have made a bit of difference. If the lugs would have
been rusted on, it probably would not have worked.
