Fan Belts

None of my recent race cars has had an alternator or a fan
belt so I'm out of touch. Now I'm installing a small (45A)
alternator and it's a tight squeeze - are all "fan" belts
the same width (3/8 or 9.5/10mm)? Or is a narrower one
feasible for this small alternator; belt will not drive
anything else.

Any handy references to v-pulley design? I'll have to make
two.
