The folks who make the buffing materials used to have a one-page
summary about what buff to use with what compound - I have it
in my garage, laminated near the buffer. 

But I can't remember the name of the place :-)

The thing that I think is most important is to have a different
buff for every compound, and mark them to not confuse them.
