In Saint Paul, you won't get approval to connect it to anything else.

Garage floor drains go to sanitary.  Period.  If the garage is attached, you
can do it with internal plumbing.  If the garage is detached, you need to
either:
1.  Connect it to your house drain in the yard, with a cleanout or a
manhole.
or
2.  Run a separate sewer service to the city main.

We won't let you run a sewer line from a detached garage into your house.
We no longer allow any building to be connected through another one, though
I see permits from a hundred years ago showing exactly that.
