Reminds me of a mousetrap I saw years ago at the Enchanted Valley Chalet in Olympic National Park. A length of heavy-gauge wire was secured across the mouth of a five-gallon bucket. A piece of wood was mounted was mounted on the wire like a teeter-totter with one end resting on the rim, the other free to pivot down. Bait was placed on the unsupported end of the board. When a mouse ran to the end of the board to get the bait, it pivoted down under his weight, dumping him into the bucket. |
