Jeff,

My opinions:
1. I like airless sprayers and bought one a few years ago.  The kind 
that sit on a stand with a suction hose you drop into a 1 or 5 gallon 
paint can.

2. I would not use my sprayer for one door.  Airless sprayers are 
great, but they have to be cleaned. And the amount of time (and wasted 
paint) is pretty much the same whether you paint one door or three 
rooms.

3. If you are interested in an airless consider a "reconditioned".  
Apparently a lot of sprayers are returned under warranty because people 
do not properly clean them and after the first use they do not work 
again.  If memory serves me I paid $149.99 for a 1/2 hp that retailed 
for about $300.

4.  I don't want to harp on this, but for a single door I think brush 
painting in place will be faster than setting up and cleaning the 
airless.  Once you have the airless set up the actual painting of the 
door will take less than a minute.
