I have a 40,000 BTU forced air propane heater and 2 "Mr Heater" radiant
heaters. I run them all off of 20 lb (5 gallon?) propane bottles like for
a BBQ. I got the forced air heater at Lowes for about $90 last year. I
have a 24 x 48' pole building shop with about 12' to the bottom of the
trusses, and live in the Seattle area. When it's in the 30's and 40's I
have to run the forced air heater to get the shop tolerable. If it's a
little warmer I can run one or both the Mr Heaters, especially if I am not
moving around much. The forced air heater is VERY noisy, and it uses a LOT
of gas; the Mr Heaters seem to run forever.
As someone else mentioned, I would eventually like to get a Reznoir type
ceiling heater and run it of my house's propane tank.
Someone mentioned a "wet leg" connection to their house propane tank for
filling up smaller tanks. Is this something I can have my propane company
install? I thought you needed a pump for that?
