I'm trying to replace an older
3ph electric motor with a J56HZ frame
with a newer 1ph motor with a Y56J frame.
As I understand it, the frame describes the
mounting method for the motors. The older
3ph motor has a 'typical' mounting system
wherein it mounts to a flat base with a number
of bolts, all in a horizontal orientation.
The new motor has a 'face mount' as if the
unit powered a pump. In other words, the
flat area at the end of the motor, where the
shaft exits is where the pumps is bolted to
a pump or machinery frame.
I've been told that someone has adapters
to allow conversions of this type. Anyone have
any ideas?
Also, the output shaft has no keyway and is not
tapered; but it does have a threaded stub end.
Thanks.
