I found the same "brilliant" feature on the "jumper battery" I bought from
Sam's . . I talked to a Vector Company engineer and he explained about hydrogen
out-gasing and explosions and admitted that a 1.5 volt charge would defeat the
"safety" but I just took the thing back . . too ridiculous for me! I like to
use mine to test starters, start lawn equip which doesn't have a battery, etc
