I finally lost an open end wrench from the Craftsman set I bought in
1965. The newer wrenches are fatter and just won't balance on my
fingertips like the old ones. Is there anyone out there who's had their
hands lots of different brands and has an opinion on the "feel"? I'd
love to find some slender wrenches with a fine finish. The last quality
tool I bought was a Starret tap wrench and it's BEAUTIFUL! I want open
end wrenches like this.
Incidentally, I've never broken a hand tool other than a screwdriver.
I've chipped some plating, and left tools where they rust, but wonder
what kind of muscles you all have to break a socket.
Additional unrelated info. This company was was recommended by my
machining instructor. J&L Industrial has competitive prices and the
absolutely fastest delivery of any mail order anywhere. I ordered a
test indicator, some buffing compound, an edge finder, and a book one
afternoon and it was delivered overnight for no additional charge. A
couple of days later, I get a 2000 page metalworking catalog. They
don't have the range of product of McMaster-Car, but the service is
incredible.
