I'd make a couple of recommendations....
size sounds good... unless you're running three tire machines and a half
dozen impacts at one time...
take your taps (downspouts) off the top of the pipe and loop down to the
floor... less chance of picking up moisture in the line... when you get to
the bottom... insert a tee and the connection from the side of the tee...
continue piping down to a ball valve and nipple for a drain on each line.
Line should slope to the last drop on the line to carry moisture to end of
line...
I made my connection at the compressor using a short section (3') of
reinforced hydraulic hose (5000#) with appropriate fittings on each end...
you can find crimp on fittings that have standard pipe thread with no
problem.. the flex makes hookup easier and muffles compressor noise in the
line... put a cutoff between compressor and this line also ...for
isolating compressor from line for maintenance, etc...
there is a site for TIP equipment that has an excellent diagram for air
system piping... think it's www.tipequipment.com or something very
close... google knows
