3M has a kit for metal polishing for $40. It can be bought on line at:

The price seems kind of high, but if you have a bit to do, might be worth
it. The site also gives instructions for use. One hint is to use WD40 for
wet sanding...that would probably work with wet or dry also. This stuff
will produce a mirror finish without a buffing wheel. You can also buy the
various pieces separately if you don't need another sanding block or jar of
polish.
