If I were you I would try your current truck before you replace it. I
towed a similar rig (24') with a Tahoe 350 for 3 yrs with no real
problems. I replaced it with a 2500HD small block and it is better
(2500 vs 1500). It will tow at 85MPH with 4000# in the 24'.
