fwiw, when the s/o wanted a block shower I looked around too and decided
on mortar. but I've seen a tape at a local kitchen store that showed
assembly of a wall with a plastic channel strip setup. the blocks sit in
the strips, which are placed between courses and sides. it looked like an
episode of 'hometime' from pbs, but I haven't seen that show for probably
two years now. you might try the website, which at least used to be
www.hometime.com.
