Along these lines, I had a problem with short bulb life in a light
fixture in my current house. Started measuring voltage and discovered
that it was low. Traced the wiring to a light fixture/junction box in
another room (the utility room) that had a loose connection in one of
the twist-on-connectors.
Cleaned off the wires and installed a new connectors, and haven't
had another problem. Took me quite a while to find the problem
though...
