I have a Guest House that is heated by a stand-alone NG fired furnace.
It's about 36w x 28h x 24d and has a pilot light. It's an older unit, but
has
always worked well. I've recently fired it up for this winter and it's
making
some exaggerated noises. When the built-in thermostat calls for heat, the
automatic valve opens and NG is distributed to the cast iron burner. When
the pilot light ignites the gas there is a BIG "whoosh" that is much louder
than in previous years.
Any suggestions?
Steve
