John, they look simple enough that I bet you could whip one up without
plans. 2" square tubing for the receiver, 1.5" Square tubing for the
perimeter frame, expanded metal for the bed. Gussets for strength.
Variations
- Rectangular tubing for trimmer design with the same tensional rigidity
- deeper box to increase versatility.
- Loops for attaching hold-down straps.
- built-in lights at the corners
- Fork mount at each end for bikes, or
- Hinged receiver-mount for a simple "dump bed"
- Braces to the ends of the hitch horizontal member for additional
load-carrying capacity.
