Draw a line (cord) across the circle approximately 1/3  the way across.
Find the midpoint of the line and draw another line perpendicular
to the first line.  You can use a compass for this step by setting
it to a span greater than 1/2 the length of the cord and centering the
compass at each end of the cord.  The arcs drawn by the compass will
intersect in two places.  Drawing a line between the two intersections
will result in a line perpendicular to the first, intersecting it at
the midpoint.  This line will be a diameter of the circle.  Find
the midpoint of the second line which will be the center of the circle.

Alternatively, repeat the process with a cord that is not
parallel to that of the first cycle.  Where the two second lines
cross will be the center.
