I've never seen a pump-type can that developed pressure against the
screw-on top threads. Mine all have a pump body that hangs down inside
the can, and pumps directly into the tube that runs through the top and
out to form the spout. I've never had a problem with them leaking, but
then my bench top is not so clean that I would be likely to notice a
drop or two <g>
Try :
1) Making sure there is a gasket (might even want to try two gaskets)
where the body screws into the top. IMO the leakage you are seeing is
oil trapped in the threads when you tilt the can during use, which
eventually runs through the threads.
2) Slip a rubber vacuum cap (or something similar) in the appropriate
size over the end of the spout. Here again, I don't think it's residual
pressure, but rather that the oil left in the downturned part of the
spout eventually runs out.
