All;
Again thanks for the responses to my question. For those of you not following
this subject: Feel free to delete this missive.
Round 2 suggestions have included:
1)Use of chicken wire/netting at potential entry spots; This solution
impractable due to the doors (16' x 20') occasionally opened for
ingress/egress of vehicles.
2)Use of snake blood or cat urine or dog urine rubbed onto areas of nesting;
With a 16' sidewall building and a roof peak measuring near 25'.....and all
of the exposed framing needing said treatment and the fact that I already
have a full time job; no go.
3) Playing of loud and bad music: Not sure the neighbors would appreciate
this solution. And I believe the offending aviators might just flock to my
building due to the broadcast of such music (guessing that blackbirds, wrens
and barn swallows lean towards punk and rap, whereas robins and the higher
class of birds would tend toward classical). Could offer something about R.
Limbaugh here but.......nahhh.
4) Propane cannons: I am aware that these have been successful for various
municipalities, but do not believe my neighbors would be appreciative of this
approach.
4) Bird shot loaded .22 caliber shells: Doing my Tim the Tool Man impression
over this suggestion. Tomorrow going in search of .22 shot loaded shells.
Admittedly, this idea appeals to the primal side. And it would be a heck of a
way to improve my aim.
Aarrghh, Aarrgh, Aarrgh,
Bart Holden
Again; thanks for all responses to my question. Aarrghh!
