Richard, I have seen a very slick parts washer made for an inexpensive
stainless steel sink. The maker, Derek Harling who is some times seen on
this list, uses a ss sink and it drains into a 5 gal. plastic bucket. He
puts 2 or 3 inches of water in the bucket and then solvent on top. He bought
a replacement pw pump (I believe from Harbor Freight) and suspends it in the
bucket so it is 5 or 6 inches above the water line. The pump is then
connected to a high rise faucet on the sink. When the crud drains back into
the bucket the crud drops to the bottom and the pump is always pumping
relatively clean solvent. The solvent is also stored under the sink, so you
don't really need a cover. When it's time to clean it, he just pumps the
solvent off in another bucket and throws away the sludge in an
environmentally responsible manner I am sure.
Works neat and if you are lucky enough to find a ss sink that somebody is
scrapping it could cost you next to nothing.
