while we're on parts washers, anybody here mafe their own to imitate the
barrel ones? I ask, 'cause I was going to buy one from harbor freight--it
seemed like it'd be cheaper than trying to make my own, but a guy here is
giving away the barrels, and I got to thinking...these things are really
just a pump, a tray, and a resevoir. but I thought before I reinvented
the wheel I ought to check with you freaks for the do-it-yourself plans.
I hear mr. williams is building his own *car*, so surely somebody's got
parts washer plans/tips. I'm mostly curious about the pan/tray--just weld
a box or am I missing the thing to grab? I can't think of where I'd find
a steel box like that, cheap... and the pump--what to use (is there some
sort of solvent resistant/non-flammable requirement, or any old pump will
do?)?

and, if you have the harbor freight barrel unit, do you like it better
than something you could have done yourself? I know car quest will sell
me the one we use at work--for $550, so an alternative is needed...

thanks in advance.

scott

p.s.: dave--what're you using for the front end?
