Sounds to me like you need to find an alternate means of determining the
actual temperature. You can
>get an infrared thermometer for less than $100
>get a $20 gauge and install it temporarily
>Buy some of those stick-on heat indicators that change colors above a
certain temp
>Lay a meat thermometer on the radiator tank or head while you drive
Obviously, I'm suspicious of your gauge.
