Before we were married, by wife lived in an old apartment building. The
house next door belonged to the same outfit, and they heated the house with
the same boiler. The steam and return lines ran under my wife's kitchen.
One winter day, the steam pipes apparently wakened a colony of ants. They
trooped into her kitchen by the thousands. There she was, vacuuming them up
as fast as possible.
