which catalog? were they actual 'robo-grips' or a similar design? by
that I mean I've seen 'robo-grips' for sale in home depot with home
depot's name and colors on them, but they're the same tool, with the
same lettering and even called the same name as in sears. I'd be curious
to see if facom is selling them too. this means either facom is the
original manufacturer, or they're all licensing production from some other
party. all of facom's stuff seems to be original.

I just bought my 'brother-in-law" (or he will be soon) a robo grip from
home depot. then I bought myself one too. seems like it'd be useful for
trips to the junkyard when I just want something *off*, but I can only
carry a small box of tools. I'm developing quite a collection of
'junkyard tools'--stuff that I'd never use if anybody was looking, or on
anything I plan to keep, but lots of them are
multi-purpose/adjustable/useful in some destructive way conductive to
getting the parts off the car quick/small enough to fit in a handheld
toolbox. robo grips fit nicely into this catagory.
