Well ... if they had built the snap-on handles at 90 degrees, you'd
either end up with a really thick working end, or a very fragile 
joint between the handle and the end. Won't work either.

For hard pulling, I use a breaker bar, not a wrench ... or grab the opposite
end, not the handle.
