I have a dozen or so of the BIG MV's in the theater we renovated a few
years ago. The dimmers make some noise and the lights make a small bit o
noise on startup. The biggest problem is a) they take a while to warm up
and b) once they are hot you can't turn 'em off and right back on again,
they don't fire.
