Yes... and the high temp engine paint I have on my calipers is rated to 500 degrees. At one of our local racing club events, I put some temperature sensitive paint on my rotor edges and calipers. After about a 10 minute session on the track, the paint indicated about 850 degress for the outer edge of the rotor on my Triumph Spitfire, and about 650 degrees for the caliper. So brakes can get hot enough to melt powder coating, I would say. mjb. |
