OK ... if you're going to do anything other than a fine adjustment on
this bench, you want to bolt it down, then.
And you probably want to bolt the corner with the vise, if you're only
bolting one. I like to do this with drilled angle iron and bolts across
and down - but Simpson makes decent brackets for the purpose, too. I
usually cut that leg a little short (< 1/2"), level the bench, drill
all the holes, and then mix up some Bondo. Slather the bondo under the
leg, snug up all the bolts, use some wax paper to keep the excess from
squeezing out, and wait. Makes for a *really* solid interfact to the floor.
