Hi all,
If possible, you want at least 10 - 20 feet of iron or copper piping between
your compressor and your water trap/regulator to enable the hot moist air to
condense before reaching the the trap. The worst place to mount the trap is at
the compressor -- give the air as much metal pipe as is practical before it
enters the trap. You want condensed water droplets entering the trap so it can
trap them -- hot mist/vapor can simply pass through and end up in your paint
gun or air tools.
