Does anyone have the address or phone # for Central Tool Company, Cranston,
Rhode Island?
I just bought a cool tool at auction and I would like to see if I can still
get the instructions/paperwork for it. Those of you that are tool fraks
like me will realize the coolness factor of this tool.
I bought a cylinder bore dial guage indicator. It is in a red metal case
with Central Tool Company, Cranston Rhode Island, U.S.A. on the outside in
gold letters. The inside of the case is lined with blue foam with cutoust
for the tool and accessories. The case smells musty, like it has been
stored for years.
The tool has a dial indicator that says Central Tool Company, made in USA ,
and 0.0005" The scale has a + and a - side Going clockwise (the minus
side) it goes from 0 to .020 at bottom and then back to 0. So one complete
revolution is .040. The scale is marked in .0005 graduations. The needle
has a movement range of slightly more than 5 revolutions, so I guess it is
good to measure up to .200 It has 9 extensions with it and will measure
from 1.9" up to 6". The dial is mounted on a small sled. A flat metal
plate is attached to the sled at 90 deg. and a 4" handle is attached to the
plate with a swivel. There is also a 6" extension handle that can be added
to this. There is no model # on it that I can see.
I have checked it with my dial caliper and it appears to be very accurate.
I hope someone can help me out with a phone # or address. I have done a
typical search engine search and haven't found anything.
