I know what you mean about old fasteners. A few weeks ago I took apart
some of my old Wedgewood stove to replace a cast iron foot. It used
slotted screws (remember those?) and square nuts located in hard to
reach places. I was glad for seventy years of mechanical and ergonomic
progress.
