Mike, I'd suggest working out some sort of remote drain before you do the
filling. Where mine is located the standard drain is up against a wall.
Maybe other people out there are a lot better coordinated than I am, but
juggling, funnels, pails and plugs was always a disaster. I finally
installed a Rube Goldberg remote that swings in under the tank when not
needed and uses a
1 1/2" lever actuated ball valve(surplus from a hydraulic line somewhere).
Now it makes draining it a piece of cake. Also, 10 gallons isn't going to be
enough. Fifteen minimum and 20 works the way it was supposed to.
PS. Northern Hydraulic has a brush on a hose the slip easily on and off the
flex-steel nozzle. A worthwhile addition.
