Martin, the fellow who said it was to "set" the gasket is correct. My general rule is to follow instructions like that in a manufacturers manual to the letter because they know a lot of things we don't. If you are using something other than an OEM gasket, follow the gasket manufacturers instructions, because they know things about their gasket that the car manufacturer doesn't. GJB |
