George,
The Only way to rate a compressor is by it's output in cubic feet per
minute.
To run nearly all air tools 14cfm is needed.
To run a commercial size blast cabinet 20 cfm is needed.
I run a sandblast pot with a road drill compessor whose cfm output is
prodigous !!!
It will prove difficult to get anything above 14cfm with a single phase
motor but my horizons have expanded considerably since I installed 3 phase.
