ALL houses today have 220 volt service. 220 comes into the house, and is
split into two 110 volt supplies. You may have to run a cable from the
breaker box to where you have the compressor, but it is absolutley certain
that you will have 220 available. If you have to run a cable, all that is
required is to buy a "double" breaker, and pop it into place. Hook up the
cable, and that's it. No modifications to the breaker box are required. The
only problem you may run into is not having enough capacity. The current
rating of the box may not be high enough, or there may not be two empty
breaker spaces available. If either of these are the case, it is not terribly
expensive to upgrade, but you can be sure 220 will be available.
